Palmitoyl oligopeptide stimulates collagen production and encourages the production of intercellular matrix substances such as hyaluronic acids. The current regulatory name for this peptide is now palmitoyl hexapeptide-12 and as with many other peptides it have cell-communicating ability that can help skin cells function in a more normal, healthy manner. It is a blend of palmitic acid (a fatty acid) with several amino acids, including alanine, arginine, aspartic acid, glycine, histidine, lysine, proline, serine and/or valine.
