Sodium Hyaluronate

Sodium Hyaluronate

Naturally occurring polysaccharide. Increases viscosity and elasticity in extracellur matrix. Provides plumping effect to the skin.

Polysaccharide sodium salt derived from hyaluronic acid, a primary component of the extracellular matrix but decreases over time. In medicine it is used as in injection in the treatment of Osteoarthritis. As a result, it increases the viscosity of the synovial fluid in joints acting as a lubricant and cushioning the joints to reduce inflammation and pain. It sometimes used by dermatologist and injected into the skin as an anti-aging treatment to provide continuous moisture which aids plumping of the skin and smooth fine lines and wrinkle.

These lubricant and water binding properties have been found effective in topical anti-aging treatments as well. it is highly viscous, promotes skin elasticity and is non-irritant and non-greasy.
